Yeah, that is a great thing to be able to do, and it leads to a nice little chunk of cash! Lots of companies will not allow it, like baselle pointed out... and many will even limit what you can access. I was scheduled to only get a little portion of my PTO when I was leaving my last job, so I asked my supervisor and she let me use it all up, full pay! They had cut back on the health insurance and other benefits, and they even messed with the PTO benefit, so I was happy to leave.
