Credit Card Debt Rant.

September 5th, 2008 at 01:51 am

Ok. I pay 405.00 a month to Target and everytime I think about what I could be doing with that money it makes me mad. I wish I would have found this board, Dave Ramsey and Suze Orman in my twenty maybe I wouldn't be in this mess. I would be so much further head. I guess 30 isn't a bad place to start but I'm upset. I guess I should be grateful that this is my only debt. My target date to be finish paying this debt off is the summer of 2009. but hopefully I can pay it off quicker with extra payments. I get so excited when it's payday because I know that this debt is being knocked down but it seems like its taking forever.

I think you're doing great !! (better than me lol).

You wouldn't have to look far around you to see people in a LOT more debt than you & who are significantly older than you.

Yeah... of course, we can all say: if only I had saved every cent since I was 5 yrs old - I'd be a millionaire by now !!! But concentrating on the past is wasted energy...

Be grateful for the bounty you (and us all) enjoy and more is sure to follow !!!

hmmmm you've seen the light. I agree I think you are doing great, pretty soon you'll be debt free. Think of it this way there are people in their 40s 50s and 60s that has never seen the light and stay in the same situation for years. Stay mad, keep your head up and keep paying that debt down
    you go girl Big Grin

I think it is much more beneficial to focus on your current accomplishments rather than your past failings. We've all made mistakes in our lives. What matters most isn't that we made them. What matters most is what we did to correct them.

You've seen the light and learned from your mistakes. That's all any of us can hope for. And you've done it at a relatively young age. I don't think 30 is a bad place to start at all. Pay attention to the financial publications and you'll find lots of articles about folks nearing or already in retirement who are struggling with their debt load, senior citizens who still have substantial mortgages, etc. You've got 60-70 years of financial freedom ahead of you.

I wish I learned frugality earlier too.

But like the others, aren't you glad that you got it now and is paying off that darn Target?
