Hello SA Friends,

I haven't been on here in 7 months. I have been unemployed for 9 months. With no job I just felt like I didn't have much to blog about since I wasn't able to save, invest or spend any money. I'm so happy to be back. I can't wait to blog about my EF, Savings, College, vacation, car Funds. I can't wait to listen to DR and Suzy Orman again. I can't wait to read what everyone on here has been doing since I have been away. Can you tell how excited I am? lol. Let the good time roll.

    We're excited to see you back and wish you well on your new job. What will you share on your experience? What are the best things we can do if struck with unemployment?

    @snafu the best thing you can do before you become unemployed is to have your financial house in order. I was able to live on unemployment this whole time which allow me to save my displacement money. Which help me build up my EF for a little over a year worth, Car Fund, and House Fund etc. It will also help you with the stress factor of paying bills. The next best thing is to relax and realize that no one stays unemployment forever. It might seem like forever but it's not. Volunteer while you are unemployed it will not only keep your busy but you will meet new people that might be able to help you on your job hunt. Stay Positive. Take classes. Find a hobby. And last but not least continue to enjoy life. Remember you aren't dead just unemployed. Smile
