Saving Overtime

January 17th, 2011 at 03:03 pm

I have decided to save all of the overtime that I will receive in my paycheck and add it to my EF. That should allow me to saving enough to survive the period that I will be out of a job.

Emergency Fund Goal for 2010 Completed.

December 29th, 2010 at 02:14 pm

I have finally completed my emergency fund for the year of 2010. I have set a goal where I would have like to have been by the end of 2010 and I have achieved that milestone. It’s so exciting to have gotten here. I tell you I would have never thought looking back that I would be where I am today financially I’m so grateful and full of joy. In spite of everything I’m facing in the upcoming year I have never felt so financially confident and really for my challenges.

SN:
My windshield cracked so I have to get my windshield replaced but just like Dave said when you have an EF it's more of an inconvenience than a stress matter.

Enjoy your day SA.

Bonus/merits.

December 14th, 2010 at 08:31 pm

I got my end of the year bonus which went to my EF account. We just found out we won't be getting a merit raise this year. I cashed out 20 hours of pto time. I hoping to place that in my EF account also. I needed some new tires so I had to take a few hundreds out for those which will be replace on payday.

Been missing.

December 2nd, 2010 at 12:04 am

I have been missing in action for a couple of months. I have been saving like crazy not completely on target but I still have a month to see what will happen. Nothing too new going on starting to look for a new job since mine is ending in around 8 months. I need to look into new car insurance since it's connect to my job and other insurances that is also connect to my job. Looking forward to a new phase in life in 2011.

I-Mac finally.

March 10th, 2010 at 04:48 pm

I finally order my computer so I can start to move on to the next major thing which is fully fund my EF. It's been hard try to get pass the three month mark but I know I will do it. I going hard on this to make it to my 6-8 months I would like to save.

Stupid Car

February 2nd, 2010 at 01:49 pm

I love the fact that I have a 10 year old paid off car but it is giving me hell. Everytime I turn around it has to be fixed. I will admint some of the breaks are my fault but Please give me a break. I am doing very good with my savings but this car keeps draining it. It is taking me way too long to get my EF where I would like it to be. I would like to move on and start to save for my house. They have such great deals out there now. I want to pull my hair out.

Thanks for reading my rant. Smile

Emergency Fund Back on track.

September 22nd, 2009 at 03:10 pm

Knock on woods. I'm doing better with my EF. I'm back to my starter EF. I hope nothing comes up where it has to be depleted again. I also came up with a conclusion. I will take all the money I have saved in my other funds and put them towards my EF. I'm so far away from my goal of 5,000 by the end of the year. But doing the above will get my very close. I never know what might happen to push me to my goal only time will tell. Wish me luck.

Depleted Emergency Fund

July 12th, 2009 at 12:59 am

It seem to be so hard to keep my emergency fund above 1,000. My goal is to have 5,000 by the end of the year but I losting my hope. I have to come up with another plan so that I can meet the goal. It think i am going to a slump. I still saving very well but it seam like i'm going backward instead of fowards I get to get excited about savings again.

Going full force with my emergency fund.

May 22nd, 2009 at 01:44 pm

So that That I'm debt free I'm going full force with saving for my EF. The payments that I was making to my cc company I'm just going to transfer that payment into my ef. My goal is to have aleast 5,000 in it by the end of 2009. That will live me alease 4 months of Emergency savings. I'm aiming for 8. I will update everytime I meet a month worth of savings.

My car broke down this morning.

April 23rd, 2009 at 03:49 pm

yea after dropping my dd off to the sitter buy car just went dead. I got the sitter son to jump it and it took me a few extra miles and I broke down again. So I just went ahead a dcalled a tow truck company. Which cost me $60 dollars and I didn't have cash on me and I had to transfer funds. They think its the alternator. Not sure how much that going to cost me. Well I'll be updating Thank GOD for the EM since I don't get paid until next week. You have to love the unexpected.

Our Taxes has been filed.

March 2nd, 2009 at 06:56 pm

It will take two weeks to get them back I can't wait to see how much my EF account will go up I can't seem to keep it over the $2,000 mark. That's something I need to work on. Hopefully after the cc debt is paid off I can put more money toward my ef account and keep the balance over $2000. My goal is 5,000 before the end of the year lets see of I hit the goal.

PTO-Cash In.

December 11th, 2008 at 11:53 pm

We started a new program at work. Where we are allowed to cash in our unused sick/vacation time up to 40 hours. Before we had to roll a certain amount over or the unused time would roll over into our std time. I took advantage of this and I will have an addition almost 700 in my paycheck. I have already decided to deposit it in my EF so that I can meet my end of the year goal of $2000 in my ef.

Seasonal Job

November 11th, 2008 at 07:22 pm

I went on an interview yesterday for a seasonal job. And will be starting in a few weeks. I will be using this money to boost of my Emergency Fund. I'm a little behind where I like to be at this point. The faster I increase this account the quicker I can start to save for my house which is my main goal.

New Emergency Fund Total.

October 1st, 2008 at 04:39 pm

Every year I save money in a Christmas account well this year I do not really need it so I rolled it over to my EF. I cannot believe how much it is increasing. I know most people would say put it towards your Debt Elimation but I have to feel secure and I do not feel secure without a good size Emergency Fund. Push come to shove I could always take some form my Emergency fund and put it towards my debt to pay it off quicker than 9 months. However, for right now I think this is the best choice for me.

Bahamas

August 20th, 2008 at 06:05 pm

Ok. I was so excited to go to the Bahamas in Dec. I just found out Friday that the trip will be cancelled due to lack of payment on the other people part. So now I will put that money towards my EF. It has been put on hold for a min. I have been getting real agressive with my debt elimation. But the Good news is that Another trip to the Bahamas has come along for 2010. And I'm going to that one. I will be debt free by then with a fully funded EF. Also by then I will have had started on my House Fund. So things are going well.

Finished Baby Step 1

June 26th, 2008 at 04:54 pm

Hello everyone,

We received our stimulus payment yesterday. So I have completed Baby step 1. Now I'm on to baby step two. Target here I come. I have decided to pay $405 a month to pay off my cc in a year. I'm so excited about my accomplishment so far. But I have to say saving can become an addiction. I love to see my account grow. I haven't really saved a decent amount of money since I was in my early twenties so to get back to saving is a great thing for me.

Well I hope you all are having fun with saving and decreasing you'll debt. Good luck.
